To those I love

I don't always feel in control of what I write. Letting of of the need to be in control produces writings like these, once that I never would have written with my overthinking tendencies.

I used to have a hole in my heart

you know that better than I do

But I've somehow filled it now

With all the love I have to give

to the world, to people, to you

The vessel is missing however

Why didn't you give me a vessel?

Where'd you put it? Do you have you? Yours?

I know you have one, you've showed it to me

And where did you leave mine?

 ---

You and I both have holes in our chest

Mine bandaged over with heart

Yours fresh still burning and smoking

It's gonna close some time, not quite yet

So I'll give you some of mine to get

Too much love, that's what it is

The gap is pouring over

So I'll lend you some of mine, but won't

fill it fully. After all,

it's up to you to finish it and love yourself

 ---

I love you I love you if you only knew but you wouldn't know

love when it's staring you right in the face

it's okay, I know how you are and you can confide in me as I will in you

we're one and the same on different sides

and maybe that's what scares you

You don't know how beautiful you are

"I know I'm beautiful" you say

As I snap your picture I wonder

as the sun hits your face and berries surround you

'And do you allow yourself to feel that way? Beautiful?'
